Do you have a love of sport and the skills to go with it? We are looking for Sports Class Mentors to help offer extra insight and knowledge of sports to help our students fulfill the activities set by the class teacher. The sports we teach include a wide range, from team sports such as football to gym sessions and swimming. You needn’t be an expert in all of them!
At Bridge College in Openshaw, we offer specialist Further Education to students aged 16 to 25 with disabilities, complex health needs, learning disabilities, and/or autism, getting them ready for a happy, fulfilled adulthood. All our students have support workers to help them access our facilities, but having a volunteer with sporting skills and passion would really help add an extra dimension to our activities!
If you’re friendly, approachable, and sporty, we would love to hear from you! You will have a lot of support from our friendly specialist staff so you need not worry if you’ve no experience in supporting people with disabilities. You will also gain valuable knowledge from our training in topics such as safeguarding and data protection which will be useful in other volunteering roles or jobs in education or social care.
We’ll make sure you’re not out of pocket for helping us as we reimburse all reasonable volunteering expenses. So to add to your CV, gain some great experience, or the knowledge that you’ll be making a great difference, apply today!
