Charity Shop Manager

Retail Manager – Shirehampton

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced retailer with great people skills, who is confident working in a fast paced environment. You will be organized, driven and proactive with a hands on approach to a varied and busy workload to manage our established shop in Shirehampton.

A background in charity retailing would be an advantage for this position.

Key Responsibilities

As Retail Manager, you’ll be responsible for hitting the sales targets set so you’ll also need to have the passion and leadership skills to motivate a team of staff and volunteers. Great customer service is essential to maximize income as is sourcing and merchandising stock. You will have the ability to manage a team of volunteers/staff, handle cash and have an understanding of a retail environment.

Break has over 50 charity shops in East Anglia and the West Country, operating. The income from the charity shops is vital to the development and continuation of the services we provide for children, young people and families. We pride ourselves on selling good quality donated goods at affordable prices. We operate a recycling system, so every donation is put to good use.

Essential Information

Interview: We will interview suitable candidates as they apply. This means the role may close at short notice and without prior warning.

Break operate services for vulnerable children and families and we need to ensure that we take steps to protect both them and our staff teams from the transmission of the Covid 19 virus. It is therefore a requirement for all staff unless they provide evidence of an appropriate medical exemption to be able to meet at least two of the following three requirements 1) Maintain a full vaccination status (including any recommend booster injections) 2) Undertake LFT / PCR or other approved Covid tests as required 3) Wear PPE including e.g. face masks when requested.
