Full Job Description

The role

Bristol Vet School trains the next generation of Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a demanding, fast-moving but rewarding environment. The role sits within the Student Administration team focussed on delivering excellent support to both students studying with us, and staff delivering the programmes.

What will you be doing?

Using your skills of accuracy and attention to detail, you will be involved in a wide range of student administration tasks in a fast-moving environment. Your high degree of confidence and strong communication skills will support you in dealing with colleagues (Professional Services Staff, Academic Staff, including Personal/Senior Tutors, Programme Directors etc) on a daily basis on a range of student-related issues.

You will supervise the day-to-day activities of a team whilst taking the lead on a key area of student administration, the timetabling process, and providing accurate and up-to-date information for our accreditors. Given the nature of work in the School, you may also be expected to help support operational activities, including events such as Welcome Week and Open Days.

You should apply if

Able to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as possessing excellent administrative skills, we are looking for flexibility in approach, the ability to manage often conflicting deadlines, good interpersonal skills and a positive approach which will enable you to motivate others. You must be able to work at a fast pace, often under pressure and have confidence in your decision-making ability.

You should possess the ability to work well as part of as team but can also act independently using your own initiative. Strong communication skills are essential, including having the tact and empathy to form productive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and students.
